Droughts parch people as well as the environments they live in.

People also experience drought differently depending on their age, cultural background, how long they have lived in an area, what their work is, their family and personal histories. Perhaps you or your family ran a town business or worked in one? Maybe you worked on a farm, or lost your farm because of drought? Maybe you’ve grown up with stories your parents or grandparents told about the severe droughts they lived through and the ways they were shaped by them. We are keen to talk with people from across the regions we are researching and to understand the ways you have experienced drought.

Drought is also a subject that many writers and artists have sought to capture in poetry. novels, short stories, and a range of artistic forms. We’d love you to participate in our reading groups and share your words and thoughts about living with drought.
